Martin Luther King, Jr. 2023 Parade with the San Diego Parks Foundation

The San Diego Parks Foundation helped sponsor the parade and carnival at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park. The parade started at 9:15 a.m. and featured local sports teams, contributing organizations, and ended with beautiful lowriders showing off their cars’ hydraulics. The carnival had food trucks from local eateries, booths from various companies and organizations.  There were many entertaining speeches and inspiring speeches. The kids enjoyed rock climbing, riding the mechanical bull, bounce slides, inflatable obstacle courses, and free swimming lessons! On stage, there were special performances from Errrverybodi Line Dancers, local school bands and dancers, Old School Skaters, among other memorable performances. Mayor Todd Gloria and Council President Pro Tem Monica Montgomery Steppe gave inspiring speeches and presented Community Awards to the San Diego Parks Foundation and two local advocates.
