The benefits of the internet are evident, ranging from increased career and educational opportunities to socialization and lifestyle tools. As the pace of the internet accelerates, two issues have emerged:
1) the use of the new technologies
2) access to them.
The lack of access and therefore the usage of the technologies is known as the “digital divide.”
SDPF is raising funds to provide reliable, free, family-friendly WIFI access and desktop computers to 25 recreation centers in the most vulnerable communities in San Diego, as selected by the City of San Diego’s Parks and Recreation Department
