Our Financials

At the San Diego Parks Foundation (SDPF), we believe transparency builds trust. We are committed to sharing how resources are raised and used to advance our mission of improving the quality of life for communities across San Diego through equitable investments in parks, greenspace, and outdoor recreational opportunities.

Accountability & Oversight

The San Diego Parks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 83-2553368) incorporated in California in 2018. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and led by our President & CEO.

Each year, SDPF files IRS Form 990, which provides a detailed look at our finances, governance, and programs. In addition, we submit annual reports to the California Attorney General’s Registry of Charities and Fundraisers.

For the fiscal year ending December 31, 2023:

  • Total Revenue: $1,425,033

  • Total Expenses: $1,115,696

  • Program Service Expenses: $901,245

  • Ending Net Assets: $672,374

This means that the vast majority of our funding goes directly into park programs, greening initiatives, youth leadership opportunities, and community engagement
