Greetings Undertow sponsors, players & volunteers:

On behalf of San Diego Parks Foundation, thank you for registering for the 7th Annual Undertow Charity Golf Classic at Torrey Pines! Proceeds from this event will benefit youth programming and important capital projects for the City of San Diego Parks & Recreation Department.

You're in store for a wonderful day of golf that features a unique opportunity to play Torrey Pines following the Farmers Insurance Open in PGA tour-like conditions!

Tournament: Friday, January 31, 2025
Tee times: 7:40am to Noon

PARKING:
First come, first served in the main golf course lot. Once this lot is full, please use the bag drop and proceed to overflow parking on the TOP FLOOR of the Lodge next door.

IMPORTANT CHECK IN:
Every player must check in at least one hour prior to tee time. (Team check-ins are not offered) Check in is sponsored by San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance.

  • Check-in is located on the patio to the left of the Pro Shop.

  • Players will be asked to verify contact information and handicap.

  • You will receive your player amenity thanks to Evotek - a Puma Backpack filled with goodies!

  • Tee times from 7:30am to 8:55am will have coffee and breakfast.

  • Tee times from 9:00am on will pick up boxed lunches.

  • Your cart will be ready at check in, and you may proceed to the practice play area and driving range with driving range balls provided by Torrey Pines.

  • When your round is finished, you will receive a special opportunity drawing ticket that will take place at the Awards Reception. The GRAND PRIZE Player Card includes golf for two at four private courses and 1 elite semi-private course. You must be present at the reception to win.

  • You will return the team score card. If you won any of the tournament raffle prizes (buy tickets here), this is where you will collect your prizes.

FORMAT & SCORING:

Shamble Format: Team selects the best drive among them after teeing off, then all four play their own ball from that position on the hole; 1 net best ball with scores calculated using 75% of your handicap. One person from each team will be designated as the scorekeeper: please record each individual's gross score. 

Course Rules & Conditions: The course is playing difficult and the rough is deep. The men play the WHITE tees and women the YELLOW tees. Please note the "Local Torrey Rule": Please limit search for any lost ball to one minute. If not found within that time period, a free drop will be allowed. It will be enforced to keep the pace of play to 4 hours.

CONTEST & TOURNAMENT WINNERS:

Tournament winners and contest prizes will be announced at the Post Tournament Awards Reception Event on Saturday, February 1st at the Lodge at Torrey Pines.

A new addition exclusive to players will be an opportunity drawing at the Awards Reception for a Grand Prize Players Card (4 Private Course and 1 elite semi-private course). Contest winner will be announced live at the Awards Reception and must be present to win.

The Awards Reception takes place at the world-renowned Lodge at Torrey Pines. Players and guests will enjoy a delectable assortment of hors d'oeuvres, carving stations, desserts, and beverages (one drink ticket included). This event offers a chance to connect with fellow players, sponsors, elected officials, and San Diego Parks Foundation board members and staff.

Please note: After the one drink ticket is redeemed, all bars are Cash Only.  There will also be an option for credit card pre-payment at reception check in.

The suggested attire for the event is business casual or cocktail.

ENTRY INCLUDED IN TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION

As part of your golf experience, the Awards Reception is included in the registration for all players. Players will automatically be entered into the PLAYER CARD opportunity drawing, however, the winner must be present at the reception to win.
